Eco-print Results on Paper and Fabric | #ecoprint #ecodye #diy

Here’s a look at my eco-printing results from over the weekend once my papers and fabrics were rinsed, dried, and heat-set. I simply used a pot of boiling water with a few rusty bits and a splash of white vinegar to create these. I think my results would have been better if I had more patience and had let them simmer for a little while longer than I did. If you have any questions about my proce...

Gorgeously backgrounds, so much texture and layers 🧡 thank you for sharing Hope
Aw, you are so sweet. Thanks so much, Deena!
Thank you for sharing these with us Hope! I'm really enjoying them. I love seeing the close-ups of the card. Especially the one with the folded fabric and textured background. Please keep them coming!
THat is great news. I appreciate all of that so much. And, yeah. I love the ruffled fabric too!! Thank you!
Im enjoying these vids so keep them coming please! 😊
Awesome! Thank you for the feedback and for taking the time to watch. It means so much!
👍👍👍⚘⚘⚘
Thank you, Pattie!
How awesome is this. Fabulous assemblage Hope. Thank you for sharing
Oh, thank you, Deena! (Sorry it's taken so long to respond!!)
@@CraftyHope dont stress about that, I am not even thinking about it x
I'm working my way through these. Love that magic cup of coffee. It works every time. Love the splatters. Thanks for sharing Hope.
It's so hard not to add that coffee to every darn thing! Thanks. OH, I used some of that LUSCIOUS rusty, gauzy, cheesecloth you sent me on my ICAD today. It worked beautifully! THANK YOU again!
Lovely cards Hope. I love all three. The more you worked on the first card, the more textures you have, which made it look better. It was worth all the work that you put into it. Love the buttons on number two. You're so right that adding all those straight lines add impact! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Kaylin. They all felt a bit fiddly, but are still really solid works. I'm relieved that you see their value too. That means so much.
Love all three cards. I think it’s all an out the layers. Some show yet some don’t, and that’s ok because good energy was added to the cards!
Yes, the layers are definitely what keep my hands busy and push me forward. You can see many of them in the detail shots, but you have to look hard. I was just thinking about that this morning - how much I love tiny details, things that could easily be missed. But, those are the bits that thrill me the most. Thank you for your time and kind words, Rose. It means more than you know.
You're going to laugh. I better check to make sure I'm subscribed to you because I can't lose this video which is what I did thank goodness this time I found you because if I don't get this project done for this person I'm going to go crazy. So I crossed my fingers, and hoped this time I could find you. Thankfully I did
I did laugh! I hope your project comes together beautifully. Let me know if you have any questions at all!
Great segment Hope. I was so encouraged I immediately went to my craft room, then cut grass...weird huh😅
LOL! That is a bit weird. I hope I didn't unispire you!
@@CraftyHope never.. I look forward to seeing you!
Beautiful Hope 👍
I love knowing that you appreciate this too. THanks, Pattie!
I'm completely awestruck by your fabulous work !!! 😮🤩♥️ Thanks for sharing, Hope!!
You are so sweet! Thank you for your kind words, your time, and your encouragement.
Oh wow Hope, the whole thing turned out lovely, but the key is especially beautiful. Thank you for sharing!
Aw, thanks, Kaylin! It was such an act of courage to put paint on that key. But, I'm so very glad I overcame my fear of messing it up and went for it.
I found this video while looking to fix and 15 year old chime. Oh my world! I've now decided to make these chimes instead with my old jewelry and "junk drawer" items. Thank you so much!😊
Aw, yay!! I'm so glad you found some value in this for a project! Enjoy getting crafty and don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions!
It’s got to be the first one. They all are fabulous 🧡. Thank you for sharing Hope
Yeah, that one is so good! Though, I love that last one too. It makes such a statement. Thanks, Deena!!
So cute, so glad you get the enjoyment of wearing it. Thank you for sharing Hope
Thank you, Deena. I wasn't sure about sharing this one since it was so repetitive and had so many fails, but I wanted to share how things can work out in the end, even when you're having one of those days when nothing seems to be working.
They are all totes adorbs..I kinda am drawn to the second one.
Thank you! I'm relieved to know you're partial to that one. I think it's good, but not my favorite of the bunch. So, I'm glad to hear that there are likes going around for it! LOL.
There's something to love on all three. I Love all the layers and the textures on the first one. I love the butterfly wing on the second one and the grids and layers on the third. Thank you for sharing your struggle and your successes!
Oh, thanks! I'm relieved you don't mind watching both the struggles and the successes as they are pretty evenly spaced.
I've finally been able to start catching up with your 2024 ICADs. I love all three cards. Outlining the doorway with gold was the perfect solution for Card number 1. Thank you for sharing Hope!
Thanks, Kaylin! Yes, I wanted that door to stand out on that so much. I'm glad I finally hit on an idea that worked. Whew!
Cute fiddley lady 😂⚘
It definitely took some fiddling, but turned out better than I had hoped!
Love the photos and books at the end great find. Thank you for sharing Hope
Yes, that estate sale is usually my best haul. I'm devastated about them closing down in a few months. WAH!!!
Cute. I would have spray painted or decopauged the can.😅 So, do they make a pleasant noise?
Yes, decorating the can is definitely an option and would help keep them from rusting. Since I made these 3+ years ago, they have rusted beautifully, and I love that! As for their sound, it all depends on what you hang on it. The ones I made are not very loud at all, a slight tinkling. But, I love them for their decorative purposes even more. Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any other comments!
I love using my Fingers…I always need to feel what I am working with. Nice work. 👍
YES! It becomes so much more personal when you get right into it. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 🥰
So nice you have someone looking out for you at one of your shops! Love both the last two books. Those always speak to the bibliophile in me!!
Yes, I'm so glad the owner has come to recognize me somewhat. And, he kinda understands what I'm looking for. And yes, the books...always the books! Thanks, Rose!
Fabulous icads. Awesome prompts. Love that button with the gold and resin really did make it pop. Thank you for sharing Hope
Thank you, Deena! There's definitely something about adding a sealer that brings images forward.
First of all, I love that music. Thanks for sharing your thrifting haul with is Hope. I can't wait to see how those fabric pieces look after you dye them. That autograph book had some really mean messages. That composition book is awesome. You scored!
Kaylin, I have to admit that I'm not even sure which music I used. I tend to rotate through a short list of favorites that are pre-programmed in the video editing program. As for dying fabrics, I have so many collected; I need to set aside a day or two to get on it!! I'm sure the mean autographs were meant in jest, but dang...And, yes the composition book was the big score of this video! Thanks for spending your time with me!
Awesome finds, love that final composition book.
Oh me too! It was a great haul. And, the baggie of trims for $1!! I've already used some of that.
Nice haul Hope👍👍👍
😘
I just had to give you a shoutout for that cool tank top upcycle!
oh, new beginning music caught me off guard! hehe... That autograph book, I love the folded pages! I've never seen one like that before. But, don't they often have the strangest entries? They are so peculiar to read. So sad about that antique store, boo! Maybe the owner will still look for treasures for you? that would be awesome! :) hehe...
These are great. Love the color blending in that first card. My prompts are left really open and I love to see when creators demonstrate how they interpret them.
Aw, thank you! I had fun with that color blending...I mean it is some of my favorites! As for your prompts, yeah, I want to be inspired by them as they are too. That's why I never really ask you about them. I want to see how they influence me.
lol. My daily life is just a struggle bus. I don't even have kids, girl. lol. I work full time during the day, fix supper, tend to my garden and flower box, then while hubby watches tv I usually try to sneak upstairs to edit UA-cam videos or finish projects in the craft room before the cats start screaming for treats and bed time. IF I have any energy left or have deadlines that can't wait, I trudge back upstairs to work in the quiet bedtime hours until I can't hold my eyes open anymore. Only to begin anew a few hours later at 7-8am. lol. I'm getting too old for all these things, even the fun ones have turned into "deadlines" now. lol. My 51 year old self needs to re-evaluate more than my storage. lol. I'm not even selling my jewelry still...5 years after our 2nd cross-country move. We are ALMOST finished with our master bathroom remodel that's taken this long and when we move in downstairs...I'm hoping to finalize our house unpack so I can get rid of what I no longer use and then reactive my selling. I just don't have time to post pics at Etsy and everywhere. lol
I think we all feel that way. I'm fortunate to attempt to be an artist full time but still feel short on time to try to get everything I want to accomplish done each day. Here's wishing you all the best in finding some balance!! Honestly, sending some good vibes your way!
I love the color on your walls. I know what you mean about organizing. I'm soooooo far behind. Despite having my nifty craft cabinet, I'm still struggling with keeping this in drawers and containers. I have too many beads. lol. Amazing ideas and projects, my crafty friend. Sparkle on! ✨
Aw, thanks Monica! Every "bedroom" in our house is blue - my favorite color. My husband swears that most makers spend more time organizing their spaces than actually creating in them. I think he's right. I really appreciate that you took the time to watch. 🥰🥰
That was fun to watch, thank you for sharing your Vlog again 🧡
Oh, thank you, Deena. I promised that I would try to vlog every so often, even if it's once every 3 months. I'm glad you see value in it. I appreciate that reassurace!
Tried to pick a favorite but I love all 3
That is so kind of you, Cathy! Thank you. I'm partial to the third one, but it is hard to pick a favorite.
Great to catch up with you Hope. I love the floss holder ideas, especially the mushrooms. Good for you for getting organized. I thinks that it helps with the creativity. Love your yard. It looks so nice and green and pretty with the flowers. Thank you for sharing your week with us and for influencing me to start organizing the table where i sit and stitch. See you next time!
Thank YOU for taking the time to watch!! And, I'm tickled I inspired you. You might have noticed that you got some of the re-vamped mushrooms in your package. I thought adding the holes would make them look more like mushrooms and give you the change to put them on a book ring or something. In any case...thank you for everything.
thanks for the shoutout!! :) you've encouraged me to find my blue stabilo, it looks so good with this color combo!
You definitely deserve the shoutout for those cool stencils. I'm so tempted by the new ones too! The color of that blue stabilo is so good. I'm glad I inspired you to go look for yours too. Yay!
@@CraftyHope aw, shucks. hehe. ☺
Fabulous page, if it’s not black then I lean towards using my inktense pencils rather than the coloured stabilo all pencils that I own. lol not sure why 🤷🏻♀️. Love to see you using your snippet roll. Thank you for sharing Hope
@@deenaotway7717 That's funny because I forget about my Inktense pencils all the time. And, that's because I don't have them out the same way I have the stabilo. Now that you mention it, I should pull them out...they are permanent rather than the reactiveness of the stabilo!! Thannks!!
@@CraftyHope @deenaotway7717 sounds like we need a use your supplies challenge!
I love finding old yearbooks! Both for the history and the unique graphics. (The pages scan beautifully for printing)They are also good conversation starters. Many of my neighbors are older, and if I find a book that might be from an area where they had lived, I will share the book. I've heard so many great stories, even if they knew nothing about the yearbook. It has created some lovely friendships. So many things, so many projects. Creating makes life so much richer.
You are so wise. Yes, taking time to create is indeed a life enhancer. And, how sweet of you to share those yearbooks. Thanks for reminding me to scan some of the images. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment!
Loving the text on the icads. The first one is my favourite by far. lol you made me laugh when you were talking about your messy desk. I hate having a messy workspace. I hate when I get paint etc on it. I love under paper when it’s on some else’s desk, just not mine. I have to wipe/clean stuff away. Thank you for sharing Hope x
That one is my favorite too! Thanks, Deena. I definitely see the benefits of having a clean and tidy desk, but I get in a frenzy of creativity and before I know it, the whole surface is covered. I think little differences like those is what keeps the world more interesting.
@@CraftyHope lol dont get me wrong Hope my desk gets messy and I do end up working in a little space but its not covered in paint, have to clean that stuff away quickly lol
Beautiful, love the simplicity of the jar with the beads. Here in Australia we call that bit at the top of the curtains a pelmet not sure if that’s what you call it too 😊. Thank you for sharing Hope
I have to admit that I've never heard that term before. LOL. But, I appreciate your help so much. Thanks, Deena!
The embroidery floss on the white paper could possibly be from a kit. That is how the floss is measured. Good video. The never ending process of art space clean up & organizing!
OH, I appreciate that info and your support so much. Thank you!!
I literally ran out of space to step around my art room. So last week, I pulled all the stuff out of the room that was in the walk area and it's been laying outside the door. So I'm going to save this video for tomorrow afternoon to help motivate me to get stuff put away! 😊❤
I feel that inability to walk in your space and hope that you found some motivation. Best of luck!!
Oh you have some fabulous finds I this video. To check the fabric if it’s natural or not you can cut a bit or if it has threads and then burn it. If it turns to ash it’s natural with no chemicals but if it melts and sticks together is man made or has some chemicals on it. Thank you for sharing Hope
It wasn't a huge haul this go-round, but definitely some treasures. I really appreciate the tip. I may give that a try. Thanks!
My favorites were the first and the last. On that last card I loved your combo of colors
Thanks, Nina! This was a great bunch. I'm not sure what had me adding those colors, but I suppose it worked.
You make us pick a fav, nope all of them in their own way. Greeting cards, humm. I make greeting cards & yep I'm gonna dig out my mini art pieces. Thanks Hope🍦🍦🍦
You are too kind. And yeah, these work great on cards, I just use strong double-sided tape to stick them down. I bet any kind of other art piece would work. I use all kinds of bits to make fun cards.
I thought you said cannabis wow hope...then I realized you said canvas. I think. But it made me laugh 😅
Oh gracious!! LOL! Year, I do mumble from time to time. Sorry about that!
@@CraftyHope no worries I love a good belly chuckle🤠
Fabulous cards. The first one is my favourite. It needed that graphite pencil to define the petals. Thank you for sharing Hope
That's my favorite one of this bunch too! And, yeah...I'm glad graphite was the prompt, otherwise I might have gone with something else. And, the stabilo worked perfectly. Thanks, Deena!!!
Lovely Hope! You do beautiful work ⚘
Thank you, Pattie! That one was a labor of love. I really wanted to see if I could combine so many of my "skills" - jewelry-making, laser designs, mixed media...It's such a simple thing in the end, but I love all the movement it has.
Hey Hope ❤❤❤ great haul! Happy Sunday
Aw, thanks, babe! I hope your Sunday is fantastic too!
Daisy’s are my favorite too.
They're just so simple and easy, right? No fuss.
